The TopDogs Guide: Keeping the Fun Safe in the British Weather 🌦️

At TopDogs Inflatables, your child’s safety is our #1 priority. We don’t just drop off a castle and leave; we ensure every setup meets the highest UK safety standards. Here is everything you need to know about weather and safety when hiring from us.

1. The "Wind Rule" (The Most Important Bit!) 🌬️

Under UK Health & Safety (HSE) law, no inflatable should be used in wind speeds exceeding 24 mph. * How we check: We monitor the Met Office forecasts daily.

What 24 mph feels like: It’s a "Fresh Breeze" where small trees begin to sway.

Our Promise: If the forecast hits 24 mph (including gusts), we will contact you to postpone or move the party indoors. We will never risk a child’s safety for a booking.

2. What if it Rains? 🌧️

A little "British drizzle" doesn't have to stop the fun!

Shower Covers: Many of our units come with built-in shower covers to keep the bounce area dry.

Slippery Surfaces: If it rains heavily, we ask that you pause the bouncing. Once the rain stops, simply wipe down the steps and the "bed" of the castle with a towel to prevent slips.

Electrics: All our blowers and cables are outdoor-rated and splash-proof, but we always set them up to ensure water can't pool near the power.

3. Why "PIPA" and "RPII" Matter 🛡️

You wouldn't drive a car without an MOT, and you shouldn't hire a castle without a safety test.

Yearly Inspections: All our inflatables are PIPA or RPII tested every single year.

The "Blue Tag": Look for the blue PIPA tag on our equipment—it’s your proof that the unit has been inspected by a professional for structural safety.

4. Setting Up for Success 📍

To keep the castle stable, we:

Use heavy-duty 380mm steel stakes to anchor into grass.

Ensure there is a clear safety zone around the castle.

Provide high-density safety mats at every entrance.

Our "No-Brainer" Weather Guarantee

If the weather is legally unsafe (winds over 24 mph) or it's a total washout, we won't keep your deposit. We’ll simply move your booking to a new date or refund you.
